Flight Data Recorder (FDR) Tracer IGC of DSX is a flight data recording unit based on latest generation electronics, with performance, weight and efficiency proper of a modern system.
The Tracer IGC is approved by FAI/IGC as Flight Recorder in the category ALL FLIGHTS, hence valid for competitions, badge flights and world records.
The recording of the flight data is made according to the standard defined by the FAI / IGC for the use during competitions.
The FDR has been designed to be independent on the use of any computer for the set-up, downloading and firmware update, easing the operations to be performed by the user. Thanks to a USB module it’s possible to perform these operations simply inserting a USB memory stick.
Recorded data: position, altitude, time and other parameters.
Data Recording: The recording of the data starts and stops automatically according to a criteria based on speed.
Internal memory: 2 Mb,
Recording time ≈ 50 hours (with a rate of 1 fix every 3 seconds).
Different rates change the recording time linearly.
Power consumption: 30 mA at 12V.
Displaying of the recorded data: All data recorded by the DTR can be displayed on a PC and analyzed with many software programs, freeware or commercial, available on the market. This feature is ideal for the debriefing. It’s also possible to visualize the recorded data with Google Earth, depicting the flight path, including the altitude, on the photographs of the terrain.
The downloading of the data, performed at the end of every flight or at the end of the day, may provide with the daily activity of the aircraft, saving a lot of time of administration work. In case of accident, the data log with the recording of the flight path, ground speed, track, altitude, accelerations and time, can be useful for the reconstruction of what happened before the event helping the investigation.
